The Place
A Legend in the Fields
Estancia La Aurora is a rural property located on the outskirts of Salto, Uruguay. For decades it has been at the centre of one of the most documented and persistent UFO and unexplained phenomena clusters in South America.
What makes La Aurora remarkable is the consistency and credibility of the witnesses — local farmers, police officers, professionals and ordinary residents — all reporting similar experiences across different years and circumstances.
Lights hovering silently over the fields. Strange geometric patterns appearing in crops. Animals behaving erratically. Objects moving at impossible speeds, changing direction instantly, making no sound. These are not isolated events — they form a decades-long pattern centred around this area.
The Uruguayan Air Force officially investigates aerial phenomena through its commission CRIDOVNI (Commission for the Reception and Investigation of UFO Denunciations), making Uruguay one of the few countries in the world with an official government body dedicated to the subject.
"The lights came from nowhere and left the same way — in complete silence."— Witness account, Salto department, Uruguay

Notable Sightings
Local farmers and workers in the Salto department begin reporting strange lights over fields at night — silent, hovering, and capable of instant acceleration. Several reports are formally filed with authorities.
Circular and geometric patterns found in fields near La Aurora, with flattened crops showing no signs of mechanical intervention. Soil samples from affected areas showed unusual characteristics.
Silent luminous objects reported at low altitude over the estancia area. Witnesses describe orbs of light that shift colour, split into multiple objects, and disappear vertically at high speed.
The Uruguayan Air Force's CRIDOVNI commission formally investigated multiple events in the Salto department. Some cases remain officially classified as “unexplained” in their public reports.
Among the witnesses are police officers, medical professionals and teachers — lending significant credibility to what might otherwise be dismissed as rural folklore.
Sightings have continued into the 21st century, with local and national media covering events on multiple occasions. The area has attracted researchers from Argentina, Brazil and Europe.
